The emerging ongoing pandemic caused by the new SARS-CoV-2 virus poses a real challenge to biological laboratories to the extent that the confirmation of infection is based on virological diagnosis. Tunisia, like the rest of the world, needs to clarify for the various actors involved in the management of COVID-19 patients, its strategy in terms of virological diagnosis of the infection

This document provides guidelines for diagnosing COVID-19 in human biological samples. Some of the information in this document may be revised at a later date, as new scientific data emerge concerning virological diagnosis and recommendations are issued by international experts.
